Case Studies
In order for hydrogen to become a competitive energy carrier, experience and
operating data need to be collected and disseminated through demonstration
projects. A growing number of integrated hydrogen energy demonstrations are
being carried out around the world. The IEA Hydrogen Program has undertaken
the task of working with the demonstration project leaders to develop a
collection of comprehensive reports on these various demonstrations and to
make this information available to the hydrogen community. Each hydrogen-based
energy systems was critically evaluated and compared, with system performance
measurement as the central focus. The reports include the project goals, a
description of the main components, a representative set of experimental results,
technical challenges, permitting issues, safety and public interactions.

David LE NOC, Stephane LE DOZE, Charles-Emile HUBERT – GAZ de France
The objective of the EPACOp project (Expérimentation de 5 Piles A Combustible sur sites OPérationnels) was to test in real conditions five fuel cell units based on Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) technology for residential and commercial applications.
- Case Study - Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck (PDF 403.24 KB)
Thomas Schucan, Jacob Hansen
H2 Truck is a complete hydrogen vehicle concept, including a vehicle and a hydrogen filling station, both CE certified and ready to plug in. It represents Europe's first batch-produced hydrogen vehicle, the first vehicle of its kind to be ready on a commercial market for customers that are interested in demonstrating the new hydrogen technologies.
